The Police report lodged against me earlier today is a complete fabrication. I believe we are witnessing a repeat of the methods used against me in 1998 when false allegations were made under duress. This is clearly a desperate attempt by the Barisan Nasional regime to arrest the movement of the Malaysian people towards freedom, democracy and justice.

The report has been organized by interested parties to attack me in retaliation for evidence I have recently obtained implicating IGP Musa Hassan and the AG Gani Patail in misconduct including fabrication of evidence in the cases launched against me in 1998-1999. This vile attack will not prevent me from releasing this dossier to the public.

I urge the Malaysian people to stand against the repressive forces that will be unleashed by the government in the coming days and weeks. We expect the media, the judiciary and the police force to all come under the direct and unchecked control of the executive.

My fellow Malaysians – we took a bold step forward on March 8th towards a new dawn for freedom and justice for all our citizens. This people’s movement for change must go on with all of our strength and conviction.

Kota Kinabalu: Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) de-facto leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim is an experienced politician and understands the dynamics of Malaysian politics to make promises to individuals.

An aide in Anwar's office, Din Merican, said Friday that Pakatan Rakyat operates on the basis of consensus.

"Parti Keadilan is not a hegemonic party. We are a partner, a key member of Pakatan Rakyat (PR). We have to consult our partners. We believe in consultation and must get the support of all partners pertaining to the appointment of the Deputy Prime Minister if he (Anwar) were to become Prime Minister," he said when contacted.

He was commenting on Umno Youth Vice Chief Khairy Jamaluddin's recent statement that he (Khairy) was made to understand that Sabah Progressive Party (SAPP) President Datuk Yong Teck Lee would be appointed to the Number Two post in government if Anwar was to be Prime Minister.

"I heard loads were offered (to Yong) like the Deputy Prime Minister's post and oil royalties," Khairy was quoted as saying in Kota Baru.

On speculation that Anwar had offered Yong the DPM's job when they met in Hong Kong earlier, Din said Anwar could not have made such an offer to someone who is outside the PR coalition.

He clarified that basically, Anwar had offered the State an equitable share of petroleum revenue and a greater participation of Sabahans in the new government (to be formed) to recognise the contributions of the people of Sabah.

"Presently, Sabah is playing second fiddle in national affairs, and this situation is not sustainable for a long time. In 1963, Sabah and Sarawak came in with certain expectations through the Malaysia Agreement but some of these have not been fulfilled.

"So, for the sake of Malaysia, we want to bring Sabah and Sarawak closer to our side here (peninsula). That's our feeling," Din pointed out.

This closeness, he said, should be reflected in the share of national revenue.

Asked on the contradiction between Yong's admission that he had met Anwar in Hong Kong and his deputy Datuk Raymond Tan's statement that SAPP does not want anything to be associated with him (Anwar), Din said Tan might be main wayang kulit (in a shadow play).

Kerajaan telah meluluskan permohonan akhbar rasmi PAS, Harakah untuk diterbitkan dua kali seminggu, seperti sebelumnya.

Lembaga pengarah Harakah telah mengemukakan permohonan tersebut sejurus selepas pilihanraya umum 8 Mac lalu.

Ketua pengarangnya Ahmad Lutfi Othman mengesahkan pihaknya telah menerima surat kelulusan tersebut daripada Kementerian Dalam Negeri (KDN) semalam.

Pada masa ini, Harakah diterbitkan dua kali sebulan, sejak tahun 2000.

Beliau menyifatkan perkara itu sebagai satu perkembangan yang menarik.

Ahmad Lutfi juga menyambutkan keputusan kerajaan meluluskan permohonan Harakah untuk dikeluarkan dua kali seminggu.

Kota Kinabalu (23 June 2008): Ever since SAPP announced the no confidence motion against the PM last Wednesday June 18, SAPP leaders has been advised by friendly parties not to underestimate the risky consequences and likely threats to SAPP and leaders.

Events in the last 24 hours have taken a disturbing turn. Among others, we have received reports that of intimidating and bullying tactics:
Several illegal banners instigating unspecified actions against the Tawau MP Datuk Dr. Chua Soon Bui appeared overnight in Tawau,
A demonstration at the office of the Tawau MP will be held on Tuesday, June 24, which was originally to be held after the last Friday prayers. (SAPP has advised our Tawau officials to lodge police reports, not to provoke the demonstrators and take leave from the office until the tension has eased at a later date),
At an UMNO gathering of several hundred in Kota Kinabalu on Sunday, aggressive words touching on racial incitement were used,
Short Message Services (sms) and unidentified phone calls implying threats to the two MPs and their aides,

In view of this disturbing turn of events, SAPP has taken extra caution for the safety of the MPs by calling them back to the party HQ in Kota Kinabalu for consultations on the next course of action, including the safety of their persons and families and the security of their offices.

SAPP truly appreciates and is very encouraged by the tremendous outpouring of support for the Party's move (on vote of no confidence against the PM). Our perseverance on this course of action is very much helped in knowing that the people are with us.

We are deeply touched that brother and sister Malaysians every where, including in Peninsula and Sarawak and overseas are coming forward to support. We can feel the pent up frustrations of ordinary Malaysians that want change, a change for the better.

SAPP is overwhelmed by the voices in the printed media, internet, emails, sms, blogs and so on. Media discussions, be it in favour or not of SAPP, have successfully brought the Sabah issues to the national focus. Never shall Sabah be looked down upon again. We stand with our brothers and sisters in other parts of our beloved country in facing the difficult challenges ahead and that we shall overcome eventually.
